the gorge

A bridge across a gorge, drawn by the contract. Bridge No. 1 takes 500 planks. The picture on this site is the contract's own: nothing is drawn anywhere else.

the clock

Ten days. Bridge No. 1's clock starts on the hour the token goes live. Every bridge after it gets ten days from the hour it opens.

a plank

Lay a plank and 10,000 $BRIDGE goes into the contract as its deposit. The plank is yours: an NFT with its number on the bridge. Planks go down from both cliffs at once, odd numbers from the left, even from the right, meeting in the middle.

the limit

One wallet may lay at most 50 planks on one bridge. Nobody finishes a bridge alone.

your name

Carve a name when you lay (up to 16 letters, digits, spaces, dots, dashes). It goes on every plank you have laid, and on the monument if the bridge stands.

it stands

The moment the last plank goes down before the deadline, the bridge stands. Every plank on it crosses: its holder gets the deposit back plus an equal share of the bonus. Anybody can cross anybody's planks — the money only ever goes to each plank's holder.

it falls

If the deadline comes and the bridge is short, anybody can let it fall. Every deposit on it is sent to the dead address, burned. The bonus is not burned: it rolls on to the next bridge.

the bonus

Anybody can add to the bonus of the bridge being built. It is split equally across every plank of a bridge that stands.

the next bridge

When a bridge stands or falls, the next one opens: a hundred planks longer, ten days again. The bridges are numbered and every one of them stays drawn on chain.

selling a plank

Planks are NFTs, and can be sold or sent like any other. Whoever holds a plank when it crosses gets paid.

what cannot happen

The contract cannot hold ETH, pay anybody but a plank's holder, move a deadline, change the deposit, take a cut, pause, or upgrade. The owner key names the token once, and is inert forever after.
